The Trans Agulhas Boat Race isn’t just an event — it’s a serious test of endurance, skill, and consistency along one of the most unpredictable coastlines in the country.

Trans Agulhas Boat Race

This year, we were there, working alongside the racers and supporting them through every stage of the journey.

From Plettenberg Bay all the way to Strand, the race covered massive distances, changing conditions, and non-stop pressure on both crews and machines.

🚤 The Race, Stage by Stage

The scale of the race really stands out when you look at what the teams take on:

Day 1 – Plettenberg Bay to Mossel Bay 188.5 km of open ocean. A long, demanding opening stage that immediately tests endurance and focus.

Day 2 – Mossel Bay to Stilbaai 86 km, shorter on paper — but still technical, with constantly changing conditions.

Day 3 – Stilbaai to Struisbaai 161 km of coastline where fatigue starts to show and consistency becomes critical.

Day 4 – Struisbaai to Uilkraalsmond, then Gansbaai to Strand A massive final push of 223 km combined. By this stage, it’s about who can hold it together to the finish.

Across all stages, teams deal with surf launches, rough water, navigation decisions, and sustained physical strain.

💪 Where We Fit In

We weren’t there as spectators.

We were there to support the racers directly.

Between stages, the impact of the race is clear — fatigue builds up, recovery becomes harder, and staying sharp gets more difficult with each leg.

That’s where our product came in.

We worked with athletes to help:

  • Support oxygen intake

  • Improve recovery between stages

  • Reduce fatigue

  • Keep them ready for the next run

In a race like this, the difference isn’t just speed — it’s how well you recover and reset.

⚡ Real Performance, Real Conditions

This isn’t controlled training or ideal conditions.

This is real-world endurance:

  • Long hours on the water

  • Constant impact on the body

  • Mental fatigue building day after day

Supporting oxygen and recovery in these conditions helps athletes stay competitive across all stages — not just the first one.

We saw the value of that firsthand.

🏁 Final Thoughts

The Trans Agulhas is one of the most demanding races on the calendar.

Massive respect to every team that took part — and to those who managed to push through all four days and finish strong.

For us, it was simple: Be there, support the racers, and add value where it matters most.

And we’ll be back again.
